Q: What is Wet Cleaning?

A:  Wet clean is a professional garment cleaning technique that uses detergents and water. Driven by concerns about the toxicity of dry cleaning solvents, recent advances in both wet cleaning technology and garment care have revived wet cleaning as a safe alternative to dry cleaning. (As stated by EPA – Environmental Protection Agency in their website www.epa.gov)

Q: What is the difference between Wet Cleaning and Dry Cleaning?

A:  Wet cleaning is a professional nontoxic method of cleaning clothes. Unlike conventional dry cleaning, which uses chemical solvents to clean clothes, wet cleaning technologies are water based. Back at 1930s and 1940s, wet cleaning was used mostly on natural fiber garments while dry cleaning solvents were used to clean the rest.

Only recently people found out that dry cleaning produces residue from the solvents that will be absorb to our body system through our skin or inhaled through the breathing. And if we are exposed to this residue in a great amount of it and in the long term, it can cause skin irritation and other health problem such as cancer, miscarriage, or organ failure.
Because of that health risk, people nowadays are prefer of using wet cleaning rather than dry cleaning. D2C® Laundry & Wet Clean are committed in using only soap, detergents, and other ingredients with wet cleaning method that is proven to be safe for human and also environmental friendly.
Q : Is Wet Cleaning safe for the environment?

A : YES, it is. Wet cleaning is environmental friendly, it is safe for human and also for the environment. Wet Cleaning also recognized by EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) as the safest alternative among other garment’s cleaning method.

CPW is a certification given to the laundry service that has passed the competency test. All the applicants must demonstrate their knowledge of professional wet cleaning practices, fibers and fabrics, and customer service as it relates to this new technology.

D2C® Laundry & Wet Clean is the one and only laundry service in Surabaya that has been successfully acquired this CPW on 2011.

Q: Why is it Wet Cleaning is better than Dry Cleaning?

It produces a fresh and clean effect after the cleaning process, and gives better results than Dry Cleaning. And the most important thing, Wet Cleaning do not have dangerous side effect for the workers as well as for the customers
Q: Then why is it people are more familiar with Dry Cleaning than with Wet Cleaning?

Because not all laundry services are capable of doing Wet Cleaning, since it needs a wide knowledge on how to differentiate the fabrics material before starting the cleaning process. And it also requires more time for the process rather than Dry Cleaning.
Q: What kind of fabric that can be cleaned of using this Wet Cleaning technique?
